Submission guidelines

A RETEC é o periódico científico da Faculdade Rebouças de Campina Grande, publicada pela Editora Scientific Brasil. Publica artigos originais nas áreas de tecnologia, educação, ciências aplicadas e áreas afins.

Promover a produção e disseminação do conhecimento científico e tecnológico, contribuindo para o avanço da ciência e da educação superior no Nordeste brasileiro.

Artigos originais, estudos de caso e notas técnicas nas áreas de Ciências Exatas, Engenharias, Ciências da Saúde, Ciências Sociais Aplicadas e Educação.

• Original Article — Unpublished results of empirical or theoretical research with methodology, analysis and conclusions. Recommended length: 5,000–8,000 words.
• Review Article — Critical, systematic or integrative literature review on a relevant topic, with a state-of-the-art synthesis. Up to 10,000 words.
• Case Study — Detailed description and analysis of a technical, organizational or technological case, with discussion of practical implications.
• Technical Note — Brief communication of technical advances, protocols, instruments or preliminary results. Up to 3,000 words.
• Editorial — Qualified opinion piece on topics in the field, usually by invitation from the editorial board.
• Letter to the Editor — Comments, replies or brief contributions concerning articles published in the journal.

• Text in editable format (.doc or .docx), A4 page, 2.5 cm margins.
• Times New Roman or Arial font, size 12, line spacing 1.5.
• Recommended structure: Title (PT and EN), Resumo and Abstract (up to 250 words each), 3–5 keywords/palavras-chave, Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion and References.
• Citations and references following ABNT NBR 6023 (references) and NBR 10520 (citations).
• Tables and figures numbered sequentially, with title and source, cited in the body.
• Author identification only in the submission form (not in the file), preserving anonymity for review.

1. Editorial screening
Verification of scope adherence, formatting standards and originality (including anti-plagiarism check).

2. Peer review (double-blind)
The manuscript is evaluated by at least two ad hoc reviewers, with mutual anonymity between authors and reviewers.

3. Revision rounds
Authors receive the reviews and may submit revised versions, with as many rounds as needed until the final decision.

4. Editorial decision
Based on the reviews, the editor decides whether to accept, request changes or reject the manuscript.

Open access — free submission and publication.

RETEC does not charge submission fees nor article processing charges (APC). All content is freely available to readers.

The average time between submission and the first editorial decision is 60 to 90 days, varying with reviewer availability and the number of revision rounds.
